Information
- He’s very regretful & struggles with forgiving himself for things he’s done in the past.- He loves Kyoko to death & is actively trying to earn her forgiveness.- Coping with alcohol and the occasional drug is something he’s prone to; He hopes to quit, but finds it difficult.- Although never diagnosed, Jin suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder, displaying symptoms from both the quiet & self-destructive subtypes. This makes his life & most his relationships unstable to certain degrees. He isn’t a bad guy, he just needs therapy——.• (tw: neglect, emotional abuse, tiger parenting) • Growing up, his emotional needs were often left neglected in favor of his academics & future as his father’s, Fuhito, detective successor. It was a career their family took great pride in & were highly respected for. You would think a child born into a successful family was set for life. But despite having two parents constantly by his side, the feeling of loneliness was very much present throughout the majority of the years he spent living with them until he was ultimately disowned for not wanting to follow in their footsteps. Little mistakes were almost never not blown out of proportion & his father was not kind when it came to punishment. Or ever, at all.To show emotion is to be weak. Crying especially would earn Jin a mouthful of insults & rude names. & if it just so happens that the reason he’s crying is his father, the man would not shy away from gaslighting & even humiliating him if there’s any reason he could; e.g: a bad grade, saying something he deems pointless/stupid.It’s safe to say his self-esteem is a dumpster fire.- Bisexual, baybee. Never came out, but he doesn’t hide it, either.- Jin is kicked out of the family at the age of eighteen, just two months after his high school graduation from an esteemed private school. The plan was for him to go to university & come out a licensed detective! Jin, however, had a different vision. He loved to teach! & he strongly believed in preparing young people for a future they’re genuinely excited for. After all, if they succeed, so does the rest of the world. … Daddy didn’t like that though——So Jin does what anyone would have done… Take off with the tuition money—.He dedicates the next 5 years to getting a dual bachelor’s degree in education & social science. He’s 23 when he graduates——& Kyoko is nearly a year old then.- Contrary to what one would expect, Jin loves meeting new people. He’s polite. & a passing flirt if your face is good. 👍🏼- But just like he can be friendly, he can be sarcastic & even a bit rude. This is usually warranted.- Throughout his years in university, he made connections with Tengan, who (along w/ other staff) campaigned around their campus in hopes of recruiting new teachers for Hope’s Peak Academy. It had been during a time when the school was financially struggling & Jin was the perfect sucker to fall for what they preached. He already believed in shaping the future. Throw in a bit of talent speak & the guy was ready to go—… Kinda (very) culty.• Tengan quickly took a liking to Jin & his dedication, sealing him a job at Hope’s Peak. He was initially a homeroom teacher & was particularly liked by his students. … Nepotism at its finest!- He has a hyperfixation with space despite his execution; It sends him into some sort of psychological high & state of panic all at once.- Jin, terrified of rejection & abandonment, doesn’t keep many close to him, Koichi being the only person consistently in his life. He confides in the man about everything. The good, the bad, the mildly infuriating-. & he trusts him with his life. Koichi isn’t safe from the man’s fussy fits, though. It isn’t out of the norm for Jin to be completely passive one second & painfully defensive the next—Sometimes he forgets not everything is a personal attack. They tell you never to keep in touch with those you meet at bars, but that could have been another one of Jin’s regrets. Koichi made university life pretty exciting… & work more fun.- He’s a wicked knitter. Hit him up to be completely BODIED at knitting.- As a teen, sneaking out of the house was a constant occurrence. He was never allowed friends that weren’t introduced to him by his parents & if he were to meet someone on his own, they were to be approved by his father & only his father. There was no sense of privacy in the Kirigiri Household either, so really, they left him no choice.- On the weekends, you can find him at home, listening/watching True Crime & Mystery related media. Podcasts, television shows, audio books, you name it.- He doesn’t bring it up ever, but he’s pretty good at the bass guitar & a decent singer. He might not have groundbreaking vocals, but at least he can hold a note. Kyoko loved being sung to sleep.- His wife only amplifies those fears of abandonment when she gets terminally ill & passes away. She had been the only reason Jin reconnects with his father down the line, so when she passes & Fuhito refuses to let Kyoko return from studying abroad to mourn her mother, he’s rightfully furious. It’s then that Jin realizes his father had technically kidnapped his child! —Despite his desperate attempts to see her again, going against a respected private investigator is not easy… So he settles for Plan B… Wait for her to be scouted for her talents that he was a thousand percent confident in. It might not have been for him… but Kyoko was brilliant, even as a child.

PRE-DESPAIR
Jin Kirigiri had once been the headmaster to Hope’s Peak Academy, having been promoted by Tengan——who very much still advised him on how to run the school. In a way, the older man had become somewhat of a father figure to him, which led him to make decisions based on what he believed would make him content & keep the school running smoothly.Though he was initially against the Izuru Kamukura project, seeing it as inhumane, his trust in talent often leads him to make questionable decisions; throughout the process, Jin became somewhat of Hinata’s parental guardian, tending to be more patient with him than those from The Steering Committee. Oddly enough, he is the least informed of the procedures that take place, only knowing minimal details. such as… it being an illegal lobotomy & dangerous.
POST-TRAGEDY
After the murders of The Student Council, Jin became furious when he was asked by The Steering Committee to cover up the incident & claimed it’d make them (Tengan & himself) just as guilty for what had happened; Junko’s mass email did not let this lie go very far, however. This leads to many more killings that wipe out the majority of the school’s alumni & staff, so Jin conspires a plan to lock himself & Class 78 within the school, to preserve the hope from inside. Little did he know he had trapped them all with the true mastermind.
THH
… Again, because of Junko (& Mukuro), the plan falls apart *nearly two years in & he is ultimately executed via rocketship before the “first” killing game can begin, giving the despair sisters full control of what happens within the school. To her surprise, Jin’s execution doesn’t go as planned & he ends up surviving the fall but from that point forward is ridden with constant aches from a few self-treated fractures & crippling PTSD.She then decides to incarcerate him the same way other close relatives/friends of Class 78 had been——inside an apartment, *but without the intention of using him as Kyoko’s motive to kill. Instead, she found great joy in his resistance despite constantly running his hopes into the dirt. Mainly due to his past affiliation with Hope’s Peak & wanting him to participate in a separate killing game with the other captives. But to keep the ball rolling, Junko sets up a faux scene to fool Kyoko into believing her father was the remains within the gift box. Perhaps causing her despair… as a treat?
UDG
After he & the other “demons” were freed, fearing the worse, he vowed to find Kyoko *again & attempt to rekindle their relationship. All while avoiding mobs & murderous children.
The Warriors of Hope call him Jinsoyarō—derived from kuso yarō, romaji for bastard because of his less than ideal (or lack thereof-) relationship with his father.Jin makes it pretty far on his own, eventually “grouping up” with the resistance, a team ran by Haiji Towa; he was never able to get behind the idea of murdering children, brainwashed or not, & refused to do so. He kept this mostly to himself, seeing as he didn’t get on very well with Haiji as it was. Their base pretty much only served him as a ‘safe’ place, & even then, he was rarely ever around. … Besides, Yasuhiro’s mother is a real doll & if she wants cigarettes, damn it, he’ll get her some cigarettes——.
POST-DESPAIR
Having *finally run into Toko & Komaru, Jin is rescued & able to reunite with Kyoko. He’s especially patient with her, aware of how difficult emotions can be when you’re trained a Kirigiri. But his goal remains the same: fixing their broken bond.Due to simply being related to her, he occasionally takes on tasks for the renewed Future Foundation. Typically under the 10th & 14th division. He & Kyoko… make a pretty good team. A quiet one. But still a pretty good one.

- Jin is singleship and will only be shipped with other singleship muses.- I will not rp lewd content with underage writers or underage muses; Jin is a grown man.- I will also only be shipping Jin with muses that are 21+, no younger.- Do not force replies from me.
